SLR at proEXPLO 2025

Meet us at proEXPLO 2025, one of the largest geological-mining conferences in Latin America, where we’ll have our own booth. From May 5-7, members of the mineral exploration and mining industry from over 28 countries will meet at the Lima Convention Center in Lima, Peru for several days of seminars, keynote speakers, short courses, and more.

SLR’s Rosmery J. Cárdenas (Principal Resource Geologist), Manuel Cortés (Principal, Economic Analysis and Valuations), Benjamín Sanfurgo (Managing Principal Geologist), and Dave Walker (Global Mining Sector Director) will be attending and speaking to our clients and friends about our capabilities in the region and experience solving some of mining’s most pressing challenges.

Manuel Cortés, Principal - Economic Analysis and Valuations, from SLR's Mining Advisory team will host a presentation titled: “Is the Net Present Value of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) indicative of the market value of a mineral property?”. The presentation will be on Tuesday, May 6th at 4:30pm in the 'Lima' room and will be in Spanish.

In his presentation Manuel will discuss if the Net Present Value (NPV) derived from a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), which is one of the most widely used metrics for evaluating the economic potential of early-stage mineral properties (often set at a default discount rate of 5%), is a reliable indicator of the true market value of a mineral property, especially in the context of dynamic capital markets and fluctuating commodity prices. The presentation ends with the conclusion from the study and suggested recommendations.
