Matthew Lesh, PG, Principal Geologist, had the honor of receiving a Distinguished Service Award from the ASTM E50 Committee on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action. The Committee presented Mr. Lesh the award for his leadership in revising and updating the ASTM E2247-23 Standard. The award was presented at the recent (mid-April) ASTM Committee Week Conference in Philadelphia, PA. This conference is held semi-annually and provides a great forum for in-person collaboration and networking with various ASTM committee and task group members.
SLR has been active in ASTM for nearly 20 years, as a means to network with other industry professionals, contribute to the development and improvement of standards related to transactions involving commercial property and timberlands, and to advocate for best practices in the industry. Mr. Lesh is the current task group lead for the E2247 task group, who recently published the E2247-23 standard in December of last year. The standard is widely accepted as the industry benchmark for environmental assessment of rural properties and timberlands and was published after years of work by the task group with meaningful participation by members of the environmental consulting, banking, and legal professions.
