Biography
Conor previously worked at ITPEnergised and Wood PLC where he worked across various sectors of the energy sector including upstream oil and gas and renewables. Conor has a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick and has worked in various automotive and biomedical manufacturing factories as an engineer over his time in university and post-grad. Conor has experience in the asset management of large-scale subsea systems including developing isolation and commissioning procedures and Power BI Dashboard development.
The majority of Conor’s experience to date lies in the dynamic mechanical analysis of subsea structures such as pipelines and cables. This involves developing various models for pipelines and cables under subsea and internal loads using Finite Element Software. Throughout university, Conor developed models of hypersonic nozzles and turbine blades both using FEA and CFD. Conor has a proven skill in developing models from first principles regardless of the software and applying them to project requirements.
Conor is well-versed in the challenges facing the offshore cable sector. He has an ever-growing knowledge of the problems and appropriate solutions that are being employed in the offshore cable sector, both on the mechanical and electrical sides of cable design.
