Challenge

SLR were engaged to undertake a baseline environmental monitoring programme to establish an understanding of the existing environment, determination of whether any sensitive environments or protected species are present.

The survey voyage was 30 days, 160 km offshore and in water depths ranging from 1,200 to 1,400 m. SLR project managed all the physical and chemical analyses by external lab providers, while SLR's team of six taxonomists undertook the taxonomic identification of the macrofauna species collected.
