Drilling of dewatering boreholes for mine pit dewatering

Challenge

SLR was contracted by Sovereign Metals Limited to supervise the drilling and the test pumping of twelve dewatering boreholes for the mine pit.

Solution

All boreholes were successfully drilled using a combination of drilling between mudrotary and percussion drilling, Due to geological conditions, groundwater modelling was carried out to provide the dewatering scenario.

Impact

SLR’s experts provided the client with a comprehensive hydrogeological service, including GIS work and desk study, siting of boreholes, providing drilling supervision of 12 boreholes, test-pumping of these, and compiling the report on the project.
