Challenge

We provided transport advice for this proposed residential-led, mixed-use development at the Hartland Park site in Fleet, Hampshire.

The proposal comprises up to 1,500 residential dwellings, a new primary school and neighbourhood centre retail and community facilities.

Solution

The project included the preparation of detailed pre-application submissions to Hampshire County Council, which culminated in the majority of the trip generation assumptions being agreed in advance of the planning application, including a detailed multi-modal, journey purpose assessment.

The transport assessment included a detailed junction modelling study, which identified localised junction improvements and a sustainable transport strategy, including a new bus service and cycle route facilities.

Impact

Agreement was reached with Hampshire County Council on all technical transport issues and a planning permission was obtained in January 2018.
