LaRSSA – Annual Conference

The 11th Annual Conference of the Land Rehabilitation Society of Southern Africa takes place in Sun City, South Africa, from the 17th to the 20th of September, 2024. The conference theme this year is land rehabilitation, “Success by Design”.  

SLR is thrilled that Danie Otto, Asset Transition and Closure Business Lead, Africa, will be presenting at the event. He will speak on ‘Assessing phosphorus as a limiting variable and the prospect of wetland rehabilitation for reducing eutrophication and avoiding water weed blooms in the Vaal river barrage catchment’, on the 18th of September. Danie was also recently elected as the vice president for LaRSSA and, together with the other council members, is driving forward the society’s work centring around the ‘opportunity to improve, facilitate, support, grow, consolidate, accelerate, evaluate, and communicate land rehabilitation stories’.
