SLR acquires Avaanz Ltd.

SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd. (SLR) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Avaanz Ltd. (Avaanz) as of February 2, 2026. Avaanz is a leading specialist in environmental and socio-economic consulting with a strong focus on supporting clients with environmental and regulatory approvals and socio-economic assessments to support project developments within the energy and mining sectors.

Avaanz brings a diverse team of 40 consultants with backgrounds in environmental and regulatory approvals, social science, economics, and project management to SLR’s growing business. With team members based across Canada and a strong focus in Ontario, the group helps strengthen our regional footprint, supports the expansion of our client base, and deepens the services we can offer our existing clients.

This strategic acquisition aligns with SLR’s core priorities of expanding planning and assessment services, investing in social and community expertise, and growing our advisory capabilities. By joining SLR, Avaanz gains the added strength of our ecology, water, geotechnical and power engineering teams to support continued growth and enhanced service delivery.
