SLR Acquires Responsible Mining Solutions

SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd. (SLR) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Responsible Mining Solutions Corp. (RMS) as of January 31, 2025. RMS is a globally recognized consultancy specializing in mine waste engineering, with diverse experience across mining projects and clients in North and South America, Europe, and Africa, and expanding into Australia.

Based in Sudbury, Ontario, RMS specializes in tailings dewatering and paste backfill strategies to enhance operational sustainability and improve mining production through paste backfill in underground mining. Over the past 20 years, RMS has worked on over 1,800 global tailings and backfill projects, with key team members bringing over 40 years of experience in mining operation and paste backfill design. By integrating mining and waste management, RMS drives improvements in shareholder value through increased productivity, profitability, and environmental stewardship.

RMS’ experience and services are key elements in supporting the global standard of Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM), an initiative aimed at helping companies manage key environmental and social risks which aligns with SLR’s broader commitment to delivering comprehensive ESG services. The addition of RMS to the SLR team represents another significant step in building our capabilities and industry profile, while also reinforcing our integrated mine waste engineering expertise in Canada and globally.
