Rustenburg Platinum Mines: Mogalakwena Mine, located north of the Mokopane Town in the Limpopo Province, is proposing to undertake a Section 24G rectification application process for the commencement of construction activities related to EIA listings not included in the DMPR approved Environmental Authorisation for the establishment of the Blinkwater 2 Tailings Storage Facility (TSF). Please note that this application does not pertain to the Blinkwater 2 TSF itself, which has already been approved, but to associated infrastructure and activities that were inadvertently omitted from the 2019 extension application

SLR Consulting (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (SLR), an independent firm of Environmental Assessment Practitioners, has been appointed by Rustenburg Platinum Mines: Mogalakwena Mine to manage the environmental authorisation processes.

Notice is hereby given, in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014, promulgated under the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA), that the Background Information Document for the above-mentioned project is now available for public information.
