PET recycling facility technical and commercial due diligence

Client Name
Clean Energy Finance Corporation
Location
Albury, New South Wales, Australia

Challenge

The Clean Energy Finance Corporation were looking to provide debt funding to the proposed Circular Plastics Australia Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) recycling facility in Albury, New South Wales. The facility will see the equivalent of around 1 billion PET plastic bottles recycled each year.

Solution

SLR were engaged to undertake technical and commercial due-diligence of the proposed project to allow the Clean Energy Finance Corporation to understand potential risks associated with their investment.

Our work included understanding plant feedstock, output or offtake markets, and an assessment of the proposed technology as it had been applied in other jurisdictions.

In mid-2021, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation announced their investment in the Project.
